What is CovSim?
It's a large-scale simulation event, to educate and inform staff, students and members of the public. A Coventry University event focusing on developing skills to improve the effectiveness and employability of individuals. 'CovSim' is just a short way of saying 'Coventry simulation'.
Who can take part?
Anyone! It was developed for all Coventry University Group enrolled students, regardless of subject being studied, or if undergraduate or postgraduate. However, we always encourage anyone to sign up, we have facilitators and observers from other universities and organisations.
Is this just for health students?
No, it's for anyone and everyone! We can even develop a bespoke CovSim for organisations the have specific requirements. The learning outcomes are based on the collaborative capabilities.

Is there any evidence supporting this event?
Yes! Everything to do with CovSim relies on the latest and most robust evidence. Where that evidence is scant, or doesn't exist, we are carrying out empirical research to help fill the gap. We already have two papers published, and have another project being analysed. Does age, gender, subject studied affect 'performance' during CovSim*? This is the subject of our latest research. *short answer, yes it does!
When's the next CovSim event?
The next scheduled event is in July, but due to the COVID crisis, we are watching the situation closely. However, we are confident that we will have on online version available soon. This won't replace the face-to-face event, and the building of learning communities we are developing during the events, but it might be useful for remote and online learners.
